Alexander Kenneth ""Pops"" Johnston
Alexander “Pops” Kenneth Johnston 69 of Gladwin, Michigan passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family. Alexander was born March 29, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Albert and Mary (Stack) Johnston and raised by Aunt Jean. Mr. Johnston honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Pops had resided in Gladwin since 2012, coming from Harrison.
Mr. Johnston was a member of Hope Baptist Church, Harrison. Alexander enjoyed shooting and collecting guns, reading gun magazines, watching super hero and science fiction movies and listening to audible short story science fiction books.
Mr. Johnston is survived by his two loving children, one daughter, Angel Duesbout and husband Maurice of Harrison, his son, John Johnston and wife Angie of Gladwin, ten grandchildren; Jacob Duesbout, Nicky Johnston, Christian Torstenson, Katie Duesbout, Harley Hakes, Shyanne Nichols, Hunter Hakes, Becca Hakes, Xander Johnston and Kathrynn Johnston, mother of Alexanders children, Ilene of Harrison, plus many extended family members and friends. Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services honoring Mr. Johnston will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts in memory of Mr. Johnston may be considered to the Johnston family.
