Kenneth "Coalbucket" Thomas
Kenneth “Coalbucket” Thomas 73 of rural Harrison passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. Kenneth was born September 26, 1944 in Disney, Kentucky, the son of Mr. Jess Thomas and Mrs. Mary (Winstead) Thomas.
Kenneth retired from General Motors Corporation after thirty- one years of dedicated service. On July 11, 1992 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Kenneth was united in marriage to Charletta Jean Caudill. Coalbucket had resided in rural Harrison since 2004, moving from Ypsilanti, Michigan. Throughout the years, Kenneth attended and co-pastored many churches, sharing his love for the Lord. Kenneth built many pieces of furniture for his family, created in his woodshop. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting, rabbit hunting and deer hunting with his family and friends. Kenneth loved preparing family dinners, watching a good game of college football and sharing his humor and wit.
Surviving Mr. Thomas is his loving wife and best friend of twenty-five years, Charletta Jean Thomas of Harrison, four sons; Kenneth Randall Thomas of Harrison, Kevin Ray Thomas and wife Jessica of Belleville, Michigan, Jeff Simmons and wife Cassie of Harrison and Shawn Thomas of Ojibway, Michigan, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Mike Thomas and wife Darlene of Evarts, Kentucky, two sisters in law; Bonnie Thomas of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and Linda Thomas of Scottsburg, Indiana, plus many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Donna Joann Garrison, two sisters; Deone Morgan and Evelyn Kelly and two brothers; Arnold Thomas and Wendall Thomas.
