Anthony "Tony" Sharp
Anthony “Tony” James Sharp, 57, of Ortonville, Michigan passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at St. Mary’s of Michigan-Saginaw. Anthony was born January 13, 1961, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of Orley Ray and Pauline E. (Oidtman) Sharp. Tony moved to Harrison from Jefferson City in 1973 and graduated from Harrison Community Schools in 1979.
Tony had resided in Ortonville since 1992, coming from Phoenix, Arizona. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He loved watching movies and cheering on his beloved Michigan State Spartans and Detroit Tigers. His sense of humor as one of his most endearing qualities, along with his generosity.
Surviving Mr. Sharp are his two children; Amanda Sharp of St. Petersburg, Florida and Andrew Sharp of Washington, D.C., his parents, Orley Ray and Pauline E. Sharp of Harrison, two sisters; Molly Willett and husband Scott of Midland, Michigan and Amy Gillespie and husband Tim of Harrison, five brothers; Patrick Sharp of Harrison, Greg Sharp and wife Michelle of Bellingham, Washington, Timothy Sharp and wife Suzanne of Anchorage, Alaska, Michael Sharp and wife Cindy of Harrison and Terry Sharp and wife Marnie of Hope, Michigan, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a large circle of close friends.
A memorial gathering honoring Tony will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Inurnment will be in St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Tony may be considered to the Sharp family, in care of: Andrew or Amanda Sharp.
