Glenn “Giddyup” E. Dillon 80 of Harrison passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at his home. Glenn was born June 21, 1938 in Boynton, Missouri, the son of Donald and Theodosia (McDowell) Dillon. Mr. Dillon honorably served his country in the United States Army. Glenn began his civilian career working as a truck driver, delivering freight for over thirty years, retiring in 1994. Glenn was united in marriage to Ms. Yvonne J. McWethy on July 16, 1971 in Highland, Michigan.
Mr. Dillon had resided in Harrison since 2012, moving from Sears, Michigan and previously from Evart, Michigan and White Lake, Michigan. After Glenn’s retirement, he and Yvonne spent twelve years as campground managers at Riverside Park Campground, Evart. When Glenn wasn’t working, he enjoyed bow and rifle deer hunting, bowling, mowing grass and grounds keeping. He was especially fond of travelling the United States with his wife. Many would say Glenn was a fierce Euchre player.
Surviving Mr. Dillon is his loving wife of forty-seven years, Mrs. Yvonne J. Dillon of Harrison, six daughters; Rhonda Vance of North Carolina, Karen Stokes and husband Michael of Evart, Lora Garland of Maryville, Tennessee, Renee’ Hull and husband Andy of Golden, Illinois, Annette Maxwell and husband Tony of Cadillac, Michigan, and Rosie Danley and husband Mike of Sears, one son, Matthew Bunch of Golden, Illinois, twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, one sister, Violet of Marshalltown, Iowa, three brothers; Richard Wyant of Massachusetts, Jerry McDowell and wife Jenny Pontiac, Michigan and Danny Wyant and wife Pearl of Green City, Missouri, plus many nieces and nephews. Mr. Dillon was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Glenn M. Dillon, one son in law, Tom Garland, one sister, Regina and four brothers; Marion, John, Charles and Paul Jr.
Celebration of Life services honoring Mr. Dillon will be held at a later date. To share an online memory or condolence with Glenn’s family, please visit: Arrangements for Mr. Dillon are entrusted with Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison (989) 539-7810.

I remember this tough old dowg. He use to take me along with a few of his truck drives. Had a blast riding in a big rig and falling asleep in the cramped sleeper. Also remember playing ball with him. Tho I was less then 12 at the time, I often thought of Glenn from time to time, especially when I drove truck in the 12 western states. I am his ex brother in law, Paul Rankin known as "Roadrunner". I will see him on the flip side and until then Glenn RIP.

I am so sorry for your loss it is so painful to lose a loved one. I have always found comfort in the promise God made at Revelation 21:3,4. I hope you will too.

We would like to express our sincere condolences to you and your family. With deep sympathy, we share your sorrow, after the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we’ve shared with our loved ones who have passed, this is what keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us. May God give you the strength to endure the pain you are going through and may he embrace you and comfort your family during this difficult time."Jesus said to her: 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.'"-John 11:25
