Carl was the only person I knew who could put 5-6 cuss words in one sentence. And even add another sentence with additional cuss words. He always called himself a true fighting Irishman! Not sure where he got that, maybe from working in the factory, but he said he inherited it from his father! He loved to keep active, between racket ball, work baseball at company picnics, he was able to fully enjoy himself camping with friends, as I am a Holiday Inn person and always left him go with my best wishes, to unwind and just have fun. He did that during deer hunting camps as well. But he was well know for his wonderful smile and the twinkle in his eye when he was up to something. He loved all 9 children equally, and the 20 grandchildren they provided for his legacy- his only regret was that having so many, things had to be planned, and all had busy schedules of their own. But he tried to keep all together, but life is hectic at times. As he got older, he was not as prone to travel as much. His only regret would be not knowing the great grandchildren that came along, but he was thrilled to be able to meet and hold his first great great granddaughter. That made a 5 generation picture which I included on the web site.
I will greatly miss him, but carry him in my heart. But I have no one now to share the close relationship that we had together, we ended up being like two "peas in a pod". I took on his many ways, and likewise with him. I do not regret our wonderful 37 year marriage, luckily we were able to celebrate 25 yrs, but I knew to celebrate 50 yrs would be dreaming. I only am not sure what to do now, the house is so lonely, no cuss words, and even the birds have been quiet. They say animals know when things have happened. I thank you all those near and far, relatives, family and friends. Carl's name will be displayed on the walls of the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan, and his ashes will be stored there as well.. Family members needing to be close, please feel free to visit and speak with your Dad there, he will always be in your hearts, and again remember he loved all of you, and even the newer ones he was never given the chance to met. I love you and will miss you greatly, but I am glad you have passed and are now with the Lord, and are no longer in pain or suffering. It was time to leave me, we knew when we married that we would only have so long, with the age difference and we made each day count together. Love your wife Linda
