David Alexander Telfer was born on April 24,1957, such a joyful blessing to his mother. As a young boy he loved teasing his younger brother. He also loved to read and study geology. He enjoyed playing hockey, golf, and baseball. Then his youngest brother was born and he was so excited! Another brother to tease. Dave was an excellent student and went on to college. One of his favorite adventures was traveling to California with his college buddies. Other memorable adventures were, spending time in the upper peninsula with his friends. He then married his first wife and had a beautiful daughter, who he nicknamed (Bitty), who he loved dearly. Cooking become something he really enjoyed. Of course, he had to make it into a contest with his mother when it came to making haggis. The family feels he lost the contest, Sorry Dave. He started his career in the dental field, then moved on to become a loan officer. He spent many good times with his cousins throughout his years. As his health started to decline, he then found a new passion, fostering dogs. Which he did for many years.

Surviving David is his wife, Karen Telfer of Hazel Park, one daughter, Candice (Telfer) Flor (daughter of David Telfer and Judy Telfer) and husband Rainer of Florida, his mother, Rachel Abram of Livonia, Michigan, two brothers; Thomas Telfer and wife Cindy of Livonia and John Lakatos and wife Dedra of Romulus, Michigan, one niece Rachel Telfer and two nephews Joseph Lakatos and Eric Biggs. Two fur puppy’s Jackson and Lilly. Mr. Telfer was preceded in death by his father Summerville Telfer, sister Elizabeth Telfer, and his dog Indiana.

There in Heaven will be found all authentic human love: the love between spouses, the love between a father and his children, friendships, family relations, noble camaraderie... we are all travelling in this life.

As the years go by, we find that more and more of our loved ones are now on the other side of that barrier. Here we are but wayfarers. While we are here on this earth we find it quite difficult to imagine what Heaven will be like. Jesus frequently spoke of the incredible happiness that lies in store for us if we are faithful.

Let us meditate on the consoling words of the Lord: I go to prepare a place for you. Death will be only a change of lodgings. Life changes; it does not come to an end.

God bless you David and may Hold you in the palm of His hand. Prayers for Auntie Rachel and your immediate and extended family. In Jesus' name. Amen.
