Jodi Justina Painter 61 of Trenton, Michigan passed away suddenly at her cabin in Harrison, Michigan on Thursday, July 25, 2019. Jodi was born July 25, 1958 in Wyandotte, Michigan the daughter of Samuel Theodore Clark and Janet Justina (Powell) Clark. Jodi graduated from Trenton High School, Trenton, Michigan in 1976. On October 6, 1979 in Trenton, Jodi was united in marriage to Jan Lynn Painter.

Jodi was a devoted wife and a beloved Mother. She was celebrating her birthday with her family at her favorite place, her cabin up north in Michigan, which she called her “heaven.” Jodi was a warm, kind and compassionate person who always put her family first, including countless dogs and cats she loved on over the years. She was a beautiful and fun-loving woman with a great laugh, who brought the family together every holiday with her delicious and traditional dinners prepared with love, and who understood that life was fleeting and that every moment with those you love is precious. She was a wife, a mom, an animal lover and advocate, an aunt, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a shoulder to cry on, a warm hug on a difficult day; Jodi was so many things to so many people, and she is already missed terribly by all who knew her. May her sweet soul finally find rest. May she now run with her pack of wolves in the great landscape of heaven.

Surviving Mrs. Painter is her husband of thirty-nine years, Mr. Jan Lynn Painter of Trenton, two sons; Seth (TJ Halle) Painter of Forest Park, Illinois, and Sam (Vanessa Navarre) Painter of Wyandotte, one brother, Randi Clark of Woodhaven, Michigan, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and Jodi's beloved pets; three dogs and three cats. Mrs. Painter was preceded in death by her parents; Samuel Theodore and Janet Justina Clark.

Life Celebration services honoring Jodi will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Painter residence, 103 Washington Street, Trenton, Michigan 48183. Jodi I don't even know where to start. I have know you since we were three years old. I remember your Grandma Powell who was one of the sweetest woman in the world. She saved my butt a few times. Your moms cooking and the smell of her homemade apple pie. The way your family decorated for Christmas. Us in elementary school doing homework after school. I had Ms Burhart for 3rd grade at Owen and she was your mom's teacher when she was young. Your pool in the backyard and us saying Robin from Batman was our boyfriend. Your wolf you had as a pet for awhile. Me going thru your screen door window because we were seeing who could run up the stairs faster. You breaking your collerbone when we were running and you slipped on the ice. Us making snow angels. Trying out for cheerleaders in 8th grade. I failed miserably yet you did great and you still didn't get picked because we weren't in the click. Our parents in the camping Turtle club and going on so many camping adventures in the summer. Soending the night at your house with a box fan for air. I have so many wonderful memories of you and want you to know how much I love you and always will. My sincere condolences to the family who I also love dearly. RIP my dearest friend. Love Wendy McIntyre

I have fond memories of Jodi and our 8th grade classmates in Mrs. Axford's English class performing West Side Story in the Forum at Monguagon Middle School. Jodi had the lead role as Maria - she was wonderful - I played her best friend, Anita.

My heart goes out to Jodi's family. You will be in my prayers during this difficult time.
