Freddie “Fred” G. Chapman Jr. 73 of rural Harrison passed away at his home, surrounded by family on Monday, January 27, 2020. Freddie was born July 5, 1946 in Ionia, Michigan the son of Freddie G. Chapman Sr. and Helen Elizabeth (Williams) Chapman. Mr. Chapman owned and operated Fred Chapman Sewer and drain for twenty-six years.

Fred had resided in rural Harrison since 2008, moving from Grand Ledge, Michigan and formerly of Lansing, Michigan. He was a member of 40et8 Voiture 767 of Temple. Mr. Chapman enjoyed socializing with family and friends, dancing, fishing and watching NASCAR races, he was a fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also enjoyed camping, riding and showing horses for many years and watching old Western movies and television shows.
Surviving Mr. Chapman is his partner in crime and best friend, Alma, four children; Pamela (Neal), Kirt (Vicki), Fred (Jody), Melissa and Kevin (Stacy), seven grandchildren, numerous honorary grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, numerous honorary great-grandchildren, three siblings; Sue, Bette (John) and Ben (Toni), several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; Fred G. Chapman Sr. and Helen (Williams) Chapman, one son, Michael, siblings; Merle Jane, Nancy Ellis, Joe and his beloved dog, Ozzy.
