Karen and I grew up together on the East side of Flint, Oklahoma Ave. she was always the first one “up for anything,” she enjoyed life to its max.
She was never afraid to try new things, when all the girls wanted figure skates, Karen got hockey skates. She was the first one to jump on a moped and have me on the back, where she promptly hit a bump and off the back I went, my fingers still looped through her belt loops. She threw her head back and laughed that laugh of hers as I lay on the ground behind her. We basked in the sunshine, spraying ourselves with her baby oil and water concoction, we ate little green apples from the apple tree in her backyard. We did all the fun things young girls did, listen to music, play barbies, frisbee in the road, swam in the summer, skated in the winter, We flew so high on the homemade swing Denny made, Karen always pushing to go higher and make the legs lift out of the ground. I will never forget the good old days back in our youth for so many years.. She was taken much too soon, but you know, she lived every minute to it’s fullest. RIP Karen, my wild friend...❤️💔
