Laurie Ann Sweet, 53 years young, passed away surrounded by family and friends in her childhood home on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.

Born on January 19, 1967 in Clare, Michigan to her parents Doug and Alexis (DeGeer) Anger. Laurie lived her life as a loving and caring mother, wife, daughter, friend, and co-worker. Laurie and her husband, Timothy James Sweet, married on October 7, 1989 in Clare, MI after both graduating from Farwell High School in 1985 as high school sweethearts. Tim and Laurie enjoyed more than 30 full years together as husband and wife. During that time they raised one son, Logan, and enjoyed having a house full of family, friends, and beloved pets.
After graduating from Farwell High School in 1985, Laurie continued her education by obtaining a degree as an X-Ray and Ultrasound Technician from Mid Michigan College and Lansing Community College, and then received her Business Degree from Davenport University. Laurie spent the majority of her career as a beloved X-ray and Ultrasound Technician, and also spent time as an instructor training future Ultrasound/ X-Ray professionals. Laurie found passion in her work, and cherished the friendships she made with both her patients and students throughout the years.
Tim and Laurie resided in their family home in Perrinton, MI since 1994 moving from Atlantic Mine in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. While living in the U.P. Tim and Laurie made several great lifelong friends while enjoying snowmobiling, fishing, and biking. Once they moved to Perrinton, Laurie, a devoted Mother, spent countless hours as a soccer coach to her son Logan’s soccer team. She enjoyed traveling, camping up at the family lake, crafting, shooting guns, volunteering at Veterans’ Homes, and served as the Past President of Carson City American Legion Post 380 Auxiliary as well as Past President of District 8, American Legion.
Laurie is preceded in death by her husband Timothy Sweet, and is survived by her son, Logan (Deborah) Sweet of Muskegon, Michigan, her parents, Doug and Alexis Anger of Farwell, parent-in-laws; Bonnie Sweet and Archie Sweet of Farwell, two brothers in-law; Dan Sweet and Rich Sweet of Charlevoix, MI, her two beloved dogs; Charlie and Rudy and her grand-dog, Rory.
Celebration of Life services honoring Laurie will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts in memory of Laurie may be considered to the Adaptive Training Foundation, 4125 Old Denton Road, Carrollton, Texas 75010 to assist with sponsoring a stroke athlete to go through their recovery program.
