Janice Mary Ochss 78 of rural Farwell, Michigan, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday,

November 17, 2020. Janice was born September 19, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Peter
Elvin Martinsky and Mary (Stachowicz) Martinsky. Janice graduated in 1960 from Pershing High School.
Janice was united in marriage to Mr. Andrew Ochss on February 12, 2005 in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Mrs. Ochss retired from USA Today after fifteen years as an Administrative Assistant. She and
her husband Andrew relocated to rural Farwell in 2007, moving from Sterling Heights. Janice attended
Living Hope Lutheran Church-Farwell for several years. Janice was a member of The Red Hat Society, for
numerous years. She enjoyed visiting various casinos throughout Michigan, backyard bird watching,
solving sudoku and crossword puzzles, spending time spoiling her grandchildren and was devoted to her
Surviving Mrs. Ochss is her loving husband of fifteen years, Mr. Andrew Ochss of Farwell; three
daughters, Angie Sawicki (Tim) of Ionia, Sue Lipinski (Bill) of Saline, and Jen Long (Dave) of Harrison
Township; one son, Steve Fisher (Shannon) of Roseville; nine grandchildren, Nick Stierle, Robbie Stierle,
Melissa (Adam) Looman, Tyler (Kate) Sawicki, Alana Sawicki, Jay Lipinski, Anna Lipinski, Nathan Lipinski,
and Zane Fisher; one great-granddaughter, Emery Looman; one sister, Sandra Kadlitz of Clinton
Township; one brother, Philip Martinsky of Detroit; several nieces, one nephew, and her beloved dog,
Ruby. Her parents and one grandson, Matthew Stierle, preceded Janice in death.
Funeral services honoring Mrs. Ochss will be held Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at
Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Elder Susan Carpenter officiating. Family and friends may gather
on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorial gifts in memory of Mrs.
