Hershel Lee Norris 82 of Harrison passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Hershel was born April 17, 1938 in Cookeville, Tennessee, the son of Dennis and Hessie Jane (Smith) Norris. Hershel was united in marriage to Ms. Jean Delphine Heike on April 21, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. Mrs. Norris preceded Hershel in death on November 7, 2020 after sixty-five years of marriage.
Mr. Norris had resided in Harrison since 2018, moving from Gladwin, Michigan and previously coming from Lake Orion, Michigan. Mr. Norris retired from Rochester Manufacturing Company of Rochester, Michigan after thirty years of dedicated service. Hershel was a faithful member of Trinity Christian Church, Harrison. Hershel enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry work, he loved fixing and building items. His favorite pastimes were watching and attending Detroit Lions Football games with his beloved wife, Jean, and camping.
Surviving Mr. Norris is his loving daughter, Sharon Liddy and husband Donovan of Harrison, two grandchildren; Shannon Price-Purley and husband Spencer of Harrison and Tommy Michael Clark Jr. also of Harrison, two great-grandchildren; Cadence Clark and Anthony Clark, one sister, Joan Schman and husband David of Rochester, Michigan, extended family members and his beloved dog, Sonny. Mr. Norris also was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lydia Norris, one sister, Wilma Murphy and one brother, Rev. Fred Norris.
Memorial services honoring Mr. Norris will be announced at a later date.
